Tripura to impose strict norms to control water pollution post Durga Puja

Agartala Oct 7 (TIWN) : State authorities in Tripura have enforced strict pollution norms in reference to idol immersion for Hindu festival Durga Puja, so as to control pollution levels in the water bodies.
The municipal bodies have asked their staff, with the help of volunteers, to carry out cleaning process soon after the idols are immersed in the river. Hindu festival Durga Puja culminates with the immersion of the Durga idols into water bodies. Meanwhile, the municipalities also made arrangements to keep the rivers clean. For the first time, the places, the cleaning teams did not waste any time to carry out their work of cleaning rivers after the immersion of idols of the goddesses.
