IMPHAL / AGARTALA, Feb 12 (TIWN): Under roars of chaos and protest of opposition parties, Rajya Sabha has been adjourned since 2 pm and the bill could not be placed today. The house to be resumed tomorrow 11 am.
Across Northeast protest against Citizenship Amendment Bill has been continuing.
Authorities in Manipur have imposed prohibitory orders in Imphal East and Imphal West until further orders in view of protests called in the state against the Citizenship Amendment Bill.
The controversial bill is to be tabled in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday despite opposition from several Political Parties in the North East, including allies of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Authorities have shut down internet connectivity for five days across the state.
Talks are on air that Tripura’s internet connectivity also get a break in Tripura, even though there is no communal issue in Tripura. Except BJP all the political parties have protested Citizenship Amendment Bill.
