Agartala, October 4 (TIWN): The state disaster management authority is in the process of preparing a central disaster training database for Tripura with names of all personnel trained so far, official sources, said.
A highly placed source in the state government said that data was being collected from the State Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development (SIPARD), CTI, Police Training Academy and other institutions where disaster management training was imparted.
All District Magistrates (DM) and Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDM) were asked to contribute to the database, the source said adding that disaster management was already incorporated as a mandatory item in the Learning Management System (LMS) at the Panchayati Raj Training Institute (PRTI) where elected public representations underwent training.
The database is being prepared in collaboration with the panchayat bodies.
“It is aimed at creating a situation when a local authority would be aware of the exact number of trained people to be called in case of any emergency in any area of the state. That would make tackling any situation way easier”, the official said.
