AGARTALA, Dec 25 (TIWN): Huge amounts of cash were recovered from a police officer’s quarter on the day of Christmas in Agartala.

OC of West Police Station Subrata Chakraborty however, for the sake of investigation didn’t mention the police officer’s name.

However, the police officer is an SI and appointed in Police HQ.

Being asked, the SI said his relative Jayanti Debbarma and her husband Ranjit Debbarma kept these cashes in his house, but he denied to keep them in his house, but they forced to keep here. The police officer also said, he has no link with the cash and Jayanti Debbarma is the owner.

OC-West PS Subrata Chakraborty has mentioned about a drug nexus with the cashes found in the police officer’s quarter.
