AGARTALA, Dec 12 (TIWN): The brutal murder attempt of Congress winning candidate Ratan Das and attack in his family at Badharghat on Tuesday night, the Congress has demanded immediate police action against the culprits.

Addressing media, Congress leader Prasanta Bhattacharjee said, “Our winner candidate Ratan Das faced severe attack on yesterday night by around 150 miscreants in his house. His house was vandalized, car broken. After not getting him in his house, his family members were tortured. His whole family couldn’t stay in house for whole night and sheltered in a jungle”.

“We have lodged FIR in West Amtali PS against 8 miscreants who were identified, but not arrest was held till now. All the miscreants belong to ruling BJP party who attacked our Congress leader Ratan Das after he joined in Congress’s celebration for the party’s winning at national level. We have met SP West Ajit Pratap Singh and demanded action”, said Bhattacharjee.
