AGARTALA, Dec 8 (TIWN): When state is agitating on 14 years girl’s brutal murder after gang-rape and hundreds of such crimes, Chief Minister Biplab Deb while addressing in a religious programme at Shankar Math claimed that crime against women has been decreased in Tripura.
The Chief Minister further said that earlier the conviction rate was 25% and now the conviction rate is 80% and crime against women has drastically decreased.
Biplab Deb also took a dig at the previous CPI-M Govt alleging that the Govt failed to control law and order.
“CPI-M’s work was goondagiri, crime against women and to do drug smuggling, but our Govt is just the opposite. CPI-M Govt only benefited CPI-M activists whereas BJP believes in sab-ka-sath, sab-ka-bikas policy. We never differentiate between people on party identity basis”, Biplab Deb claimed.
Deb’s claim came under contrary when his party is day/ night attacking CPI-M candidates of the Municipal election and grabbed 91 seats by force by beating, torturing oppositions and vandalizing their houses.
