AGARTALA, September 29 (TIWN): The supporters of Indian National Trinamool Trade Union Congress (INTTUC) a trade union organization of All India Trinamool Congress today organized a road blockage at Battala demanding rehabilitation of the street hawkers who were evacuated by the AMC’s Task force.
After getting the information police rushed to the spot and arrested around 100 Indian National Trinamool Trade Union Congress (INTTUC) supporters.
According to the AMC sources, footpaths are occupied largely by hawkers. The hawkers had been informed many times but they made no response to it. Tired of this the AMC decided to teach them a lesson. AMC’s Task force started evacuation of hawkers from the city to clear the footpaths. Around 250 hawkers have been evacuated till now, said AMC sources.
