AGARTALA, Nov 30 (TIWN): Opposition CPI-M has condemned the ongoing brutal attacks upon media and BJP Govt's open war to shutdown a certain section of media houses.
CPI-M in its social media has condmened the attitude of Tripura Govt to break fourth-pillar-of-democracy mentioing 3 media houses names, which are undergoing major challenges for broadcasting : Din-Raat, Tripurainfoway.com, Mrinalini ENN.
Since BJP Govt is in power both Mrinalini and Channel Din-Raat were shutdown by force.
The media-partner office of Tripurainfoway at Banamalipur has also been threatened by police by continuous harassment and day-night arrival with huge numbers of police force and vehicle. This attack is not new, but the Banamalipur office staffs of Tripurainfoway newspaper are facing police harassment since 5 months. Even Biplab Deb sent CRPF official Santi Ranjan Acharjee illegally in this office and he harassed girl-staffs with menaingless questions for hours. Now, regardless male, female staffs they all are harassed, families are intentionally maligned as police with big team, many vehicles rush to journalists houses even though no charge against journalists/ photographers exists.
