CPI-M's 22nd State Conference begins in Tripura : Sitaram Yechury hoisted Party flag

AGARTALA, Nov 25 (TIWN): CPI-M's 22nd State Conference in Tripura has kicked off on Sunday for long two days. Party National General Secretary Sitarama Yechury, Politburo Prakash Karat, Brinda Karat have arrived to participate in the conference started at Agartala Town Hall. Sitaram Yechury hoisted the party flag at 11 am in the Presence of all top CPI-M leaders and Politburo Manik Sarkar. CPI-M State Secretary Bijan Dhar, top leaders as MP Jitendra Chaudhury, Badal Chaudhury, Gautam Das remained present on the occasion. Addressing on the occasion, CPI-M State Secretary Bijan Dhar has called for all democratic people to get united with CPI-M. Yechury while addressing has titled Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national President Amit Shah as the "Duryodhan" and "Dushasan" (Evil characters of Indian Epic Mahabharata) further claiming that the saffron terror brigade will end one day. In the conference around 300 delegates remained present at Agartala Town Hall.

The name of the stage has been dedicated after four CPI-M passed away leaders who passed away after 21st State Committee meeting 1) Khagen Das, 2) Sandhya Debbarma, 3) Samir Deb Sarkar, 4) Khagendra Jamatia. Important decisions will be taken during the conference at here. 

This is the biggest gathering conducted by CPI-M after 8 months of Assembly Election since BJP unseated CPI-M. CPI-M has called common men to help their party with supports so that democracy can be restored. 

Ahead of State Conference, CPI-M State Secretary Bijan Dhar had revealed data on the ongoing violence of BJP in last 8 months, Till December 31st from March 3rd, Total 485 Leftist Party offices have been burnt from March 3rd to October 31st. From Govt side 164 party offices have been bulldozed. Trade Union offices in total 191 numbers have been attacked and 21 were broken. Apart from party offices 50 shops were broken, 2346 houses were burnt, attacked, 226 shops were attacked, loot incidents held in total 227 numbers, rubber gardens burnt 56, car/ bike burnt 67, 1284 people were attacked, 173 were hospitalized with severe injuries, 5 CPI-M party members were killed.

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) is a communist party in India. The party emerged from a split from the Communist Party of India in 1964. The CPI was formed at the Seventh Congress of the Communist Party of India held in Calcutta from 31 October to 7 November 1964. CPI-M is now the strongest opposition party in Tripura.
