AGARTALA, Nov 18 (TIWN): Accusing the ongoing situation across state is "undemocratic" and "fascist", Tripura CPI-M has cancelled mass-rally which was to be conducted this month like every year. However, CPI-M will conduct a two days long conference (22nd State level conference) from 25 November to 26 November and National General Secretary Sitaram Yechury, Ex-National General Secretary Prakash Karat, Politburo member Brinda Karat are scheduled to come. Being asked by media, why CPI-M is not holding any rally this time, Party Secretary Bijan Dhar said, "The reason is none other than the existing situation of the state. It's not possible that the gathering of people will be easy and safe. No vehicle has been allowed. Even local newspaper under political target are unable to circulate in various parts of the state. Everywhere a fascist attack is hovering. In this abnormal situation we will not allow any gathering which may lead tensions".
The press conference was held after one day State Committee meeting had conducted in the Melarmath Party Headquarter. CPI-M State Committee have condemned the ongoing attacks upon opposition CPI-M and their houses.
CPI-M Central Committee has alleged over 100 of attacks in BJP ruled Tripura in last 8 months. Tripura CPI-M also conducted a State Committee meeting in the Melarmath Party Office, reviewed the ongoing situation allover the state. However, Tripura is undergoing law and order issues amid various crisis situation created allover due to joblessness, workless situations.
