AGARTALA, Nov 13 (TIWN): On the occasion of 6th Yuva Utsav, Dept of Sports has invited Fossils rock band on November 16 to perform at Astabal Stadium.
Fossils is an Indian hard rock band from Bengal formed in Kolkata, West Bengal, India in 1998. The group is considered one of the pioneering rock acts in Kolkata's Bengali music scene. The band is currently composed of Rupam Islam, Deep, Allan Ao, Chandramouli, Tanmoy is a huge popular band for Bengal as well as influenced Tripura.
The yearly Yuva Utsav to be conducted for November 15 to November 19. Eight states as Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland,Sikkim, and Tripura will participate in that programme. On 16th October Bengali Fossils Band will be performing in Astabal stadium, whereas on October 18 singer Alka Yagnik will sing songs.
In a press conference Tripura Sports Minister Manoj Deb said, "Every year Sports Dept holds Yuva Utsav and out of any 8 States in the Northeast India, one State is selected. This year Tripura has been selected in the venue. The aim of the programme has remained cultural exchanges among Northeast States".
