AGARTALA, Nov 10 (TIWN): Govt of Tripura will dedicate a space in the Maharaja Bir Bikrama Airport (Agartala Airport) for the idol of the King Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya, who had established this Airport.
The airport was designed and built in 1942 by the Maharaja of Tripura Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur. Earlier, one of the terminals was dedicated in Maharaja Bir Bikram's name, whereas after BJP Govt came in power, the whole Airport's name was changed after the King's name.
Transport Minister Pranajit Singha Roy has visited the Airport on Saturday with Govt officials and also discussed it with Airport authority.

Agartala Airport, now officially known as Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport, is a domestic airport located 12 kilometres northwest of the city of Agartala, the capital of the state of Tripura in India. It is administered by the Airports Authority of India. Right now Indigo, Air India services are only available in this Airport.
