AGARTALA, Nov 3 (TIWN): Capital City Agartala is now glittering with full decoration, lighting ahead of Diwali i.e. known for Kali Puja for Bengalis.
In Bengali there is a popular phrase "Baro Mashe Tero Parbon" (13 festivals in 12 months) and this Diwali is a part of it.
Before Diwali, Bengalis have celebrated "Pohela Boishakh", "Biswakarma Puja", "Manasha puja", "Mahalaya", "Durga puja". Now after "Laxmi puja", "Kali Puja" and "Bhai Phota" to be celebrated.
Festive lover Bengalis thus after Durga Puja, Laxmi Puja now have geared up to celebrate Diwali 2018 (Kali Puja) with prayers, family getting together and burning of fire crackers, lighting candles.
Both Diwali and Laxmi puja in Bengali community is observed with candles, joys, fire crackers. Markets have been stored with various items, idols, fruits, fire crackers etc centering the puja.Fire crackers are also sold heavily on that occasion.
Sound crackers even though not allowed but each year people enjoy all kinds of fire crackers in the state amid restrictions.
In Udaipur Matabari the main Diwali festival is being celebrated.
