Agartala, September 26 (TIWN): Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Friday progressed in their hawker evacuation programme. In addition, Construction materials also taken up by AMC.The mission will continue till 30th September- says Executive Engineer of Central Zone Arun Roy.

 Mr. Roy while speaking to TIWN said that, the hawkers were given sufficient time to pack their materialsand vacate their locations. But they had not taken the matter seriously. On the other hand, Government had also instructed to remove all construction materials from roadside in AMC area. Minister Manik Dey had also organized a meeting with AMC on a timeline to clear up the materials.

As no improvements of evacuation by hawkers, AMC started evacuation of hawkers from both the eastern and western side of Battala area. Besides these construction materials have also been taken out  from Office lane, Joynagar, and Ramnagar area etc.The work should be completed within 30^th of this month- Mr Roy further added.

It is to be mentioned here that earlier such programme has been executed by AMC in Ashram Chowhumani area and heart of the city at Post Office Chowhumani area.
