The attack took place when CPI-M were in protest rally against Rafale deal scam. All of a sudden a massive attack took place for which police were not prepared.

Through facbook it has been known, BJP activists after attacking CPI-M were engaged in massive propaganda of the violence launched by them. The posts made it clear that the attack was done by BJP activists planwise. 

One culprit has been identified as Satyajit Sur, who is the General Secretary of BJP Yuv Morcha of Belonia. He in social media openly accepted that the attack was organized by BJP. 

The rally was a part of statewide protest of CITU was organized in Tripura on Modi Govt's biggest scam Rafale Scam.

In all subdivisions protests were organized on this issue. The theme of the protest was demand of resignation of Nirmala Sitharaman, the Defence Minister. 

The Rafale Deal Controversy is a political controversy in India related to the purchase of 36 multirole fighter aircraft for a price estimated to be worth Rs 58,000 crore by The Defence Ministry of India from France's Dassault Aviation. Origin of the deal lies in the Indian MRCA competition.
