AGARTALA, Oct 21 (TIWN): Annual Police Commemoration Day was observed here at AD Nagar ground.

Chief Minister Biplab Deb, Chief Secretary L K Gupta, DGP A K Shukla were present on that occasion.

In India, many days are considered as martyr days and on 21^st October of every year Police observed as Commemoration Day in honour of martyrs. 

On this day, names of personnel, martyred from all Police/ CAPF all over the country were read over by SR Ojha, IG BSF Tripura. This was followed by paying homage to all the martyrs by special guard. List of this year included 54 martyrs from BSF.

Next of Kins of the martyrs were felicitated by BSF personnel at different locations in the State in their respective school premises.
