AGARTALA, Oct 13 (TIWN): Like every year, 'International Day for Disaster Reduction' was observed in Tripura with full enthusiasm.
Forest Minister NC Debbarma referring Tripura, Kerala flood said, awareness on Disaster-prevention should be continued from flood to earthquakes.
A massive awareness rally was conducted on that occasion at Agartala from Astabal Stadium.
The Minister also appealed to achieve the meaning of the pledge for disaster preparedness. “We should not leave the value of oath in the swearing-in ceremony, we should keep ourselves prepare to handle any circumstance in case of natural disaster”, said NC Debbarma.
Various banners as: ‘The earthquake doesn’t kill, but the buildings kill’, ‘To go under table or bed during a quake’, ‘To take important items, medicines before go to safe place during earthquake’, ‘Not to make homes at Hills corner’, ‘Take initiative of flood emergency situation’ etc. were shown during the rally.
