AGARTALA, Oct 8 (TIWN): After BJP ruled Assam faced National Register of Citizens of India (NRC) procedures, cutting around 40 lakhs people from NRC list, BJP ruled Tripura also going in the same direction.
In the press briefing by Advocate Manish Goswami after hearing of NRC case of Tripura filed by "Tripura People’s Front" (TPF) said, "The condition of Tripura is worse than Assam due to illegal intrusions in the state and the case has already been tagged with Assam by the Court".
"Even though the hearing date yet not announced but it expected the hearing will be on the same date with Assam i.e. on 23rd October", said the advocate.
The Supreme Court on Monday has sought response from the Centre on National Register for Citizens (NRC) to find out the illegal immigrants in Tripura.A bench comprising Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Justices S K Kaul and K M Joseph referred the plea, which will now clear the stand of Tripura and Central Govt both. Tripura Law Secretary Data Mohan Jamatia has accepted that the Govt has received notice from Supreme Court to respond the petition.
