AGARTALA, Oct 2 (TIWN): 150th Birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and 31st Foundation Day of Tripura University were celebrated with full enthusiasm.

Chief Minister Biplab Deb has inaugurated the programme on Tuesday. In address, CM praised both Mahtma Gandhi and Prime Minister Narendra Modi both.

Justice Amba Das Joshi, Bombay High Court and also chairperson of Maharashtra Administrative Tribunal has graced the programme as Chief Guest. Vice Chancellor of the Tripura University Dr V L Dharurkar was also  present on the dais.

Tripura University is the main public/central government university of state of Tripura. The University provides post-graduate courses in sixteen subjects while the various Departments, Directorates and Centres within it provide 38 degree courses. All twenty four general and technical colleges, within the state, are affiliated with Tripura University. Situated on the sprawling 75 acres (300,000 m2) of land, donated by the State Government, at Suryamaninagar, ten kilometers south of Agartala this University is constantly aiming to deliver a great place of education and knowledge.
