AGARTALA, Oct 2 (TIWN): Celebration for 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, known as Father of the Nation has been started here in Tripura with a massive colouful rally organized in the morning at the capital city Agartala.

The rally was participated by huge numbers of school students from various schools in Agartala led by Chief Minister Biplab Deb and Education Minister Ratan lal Nath.

Another big celebration will be conducted in Tripura University today to mark Gandhi Jayanti.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was an Indian activist who was the leader of the Indian independence movement against British rule. Employing nonviolent civil disobedience, Gandhi led India to independence and inspired movements for civil rights and freedom across the world.
