Agartala, Sep 22 (TIWN): Durga Puja, only 8 days to go, heavy downpour spoiled the spirit of Durga Puja shoppers in the city and the artists engaged with the making of pandal and idol as well at the time when the air is filled with festive cheer to welcome the Goddess.
“Barely few days left for the greatest carnival of Bengalis. Every club has to finish the entire decoration within Sashthi. But, heavy rains since few days spoiled the entire work”, said one Puja organizer. The heavy shower has left the artists upset as they are not able to do their work.
Along with the artists, the rain created havoc as the people could not go for Puja shopping. The rains have spoiled the shopping plans of people especially teenagers and housewives. The people seemed to give curse to the rain shower for spoiling their plan.
A college student said, “The countdown for Durga Puja got underway since the mid of the month. I was planning to hang out with my friends and family. But, heavy downfall the entire day spoiled plan”.
The state today witnessed a cloudy sky with incessant rainfall since morning. The Meteorological Department informed that the sky is expected to remain cloudy with occurrence of light rain or thunder shower in the entire state.
