AGARTALA, Sep 19 (TIWN): Amid 6 months long mandays crisis, Tripura Finance Dept has decided to increase numbers of beneficiaries for 2-days works during Durga Puja.

Every year Tripura Govt provides 2 days mandays to poor ahead during Durga Puja and this year BJP Govt has announced to increase the numbers of beneficiaries.

Addressing in a press meet, Deputy CM cum Finance Minister Jishnu Debbarma said, "Since 6 years, 2 lakhs 26 thousand families were getting two mandays work during Durga Puja. This year we have increased the number 1 lakh and thus beneficiaries numbers stands 3 lakhs 26 thousand"

"It's a huge hike of 41 %. As an example if in a village 100 people were getting works, now the number of beneficiaries will be 144 people", Deputy CM told media.

"11 corores 55 lakh 70 thousand rupees will cost and 42 % more rural families will get work", Deputy CM added.
