Agartala, September 20 (TIWN): Heavy rainfall warning being issued by IMD Tripura ahead of the upcoming Puja. In the next 48hrs due to the effect of South West Monsoon Tripura will receive heavy rainfall. “Indian Meteorological Department had alerted the State about the heavy monsoon- says the Chief of the State Meteorological Department Swapan Saha.
Weather sources informed that, in the next 48hrs heavy rainfall will occur in Tripura. According to local met officials, the weather will remain unchanged till September 28 next in Tripura but forecast of rainfall will be given at twelve hours interval with agro-meteorological advices for the farmers. Local Met also guessed that rain would occur at various places of the State in next 24 hours while heavy rainfall may occur at one or two places during the next 48 hours under the influence of the cyclonic circulation over coastal areas of the state and the adjoining areas of Northwest Bay of Bengal. A low pressure area has formed over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas of Odisha and West-Central Bay of Bengal- the weather sources further informed. The temperature will hover around 26 degree centigrade.
However from Saturday morning low and medium rainfall disrupted the normal city life..It is to be mentioned here that due to rainfall landslides occured in Longtarai tunnel. Railways lines were were disrupted yesterday.
