UDAIPUR (Tripura), Sep 11 (TIWN): 125th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda's Historic Speech was celebrated by Ramesh H.S. School on Tuesday.
Minister Pranajit Singha Roy inaugurated the programme, met the blood donors at there. Gomati District SP AR Reddy was also present on that occasion.
Addressing on the occasion, Minister said, "If India could follow Swami Vivekananda's footsteps, then the condition of the nation would not be like this".
Around 125 years ago, on September 11, Swami Vivekanand delivered an iconic and eloquent speech at the Chicago Convention of Parliament of Religions. Introducing Hinduism to the world in 1893, Swami Vivekanand spoke about intolerance, religion and the need to end all forms of fanaticism. Such was the effect of the remarkable message that he was given a two-minute standing ovation.
