AGARTALA, Sep 11 (TIWN):In a rare example of venting frustrations against ruling BJP’s failure to control Petrol prices , State Tripura's petrol pumps also remained close on Bharat 'Bandh Day' of Congress, 'Hartal' of CPI-M which were conducted protesting against the fuel price hike across nation.
BJP leaders were found screaming openly in front of Agartala Motor Stand saying, "Petrol pumps close on strike, such never happened in Tripura earlier".
BJP leaders started the move with petrol pumps and called shop-keepers, entered businessmen's houses, forced them to open shops since 12 noon on yesterday.
Being asked by media, one of the petrol pump dealers strictly denied to talk either in support or in against of the Govt but he said, what the Govt has ordered they (Businessmen) have to follow, beyond that 'no comment'. His shop was actually closed, which made the BJP angry.
When asked, BJP activists accused CPI-M, Congress to push fear among businessmen to succeed the strike.
The BJP activists forced petrol pump dealers to open the petrol pump and pour petrol in their bikes' tankers.
The 12 hours strike was observed with 100 % success till 12 noon but with BJP's forcefulness few shops opened but across Tripura people enjoyed the strike at home, saving fuels of their vehicles.
With a jump of 26 paisa more than Sunday, the fuel price under BJP govt has gone at Rs. 79.17 on Monday.
