AGARTALA, Sep 9 (TIWN): Amid ruling BJP Govt's strict warning against Congress called 12 hours strike in Tripura on Monday, as a part of national level agitation, Left Parties and Congress have geared up to observe strike to voice against massive fuel price hike under Modi Govt. This will be the first strike by the opposition parties on the 6th month of BJP govt formation, infact a heavy challenge when the ruling Govt has given a strict warning against strike. Socialist Unity Centre of India have staged protest in Agartala supporting the Congress called strike here in Tripura. On the side, Govt of Tripura in a notification dated Sep 7, 2018 has asked Secretaries to send a report to M Rema, Under Secretary of Govt of Tripura at 12 noon on Monday (Strike Day) showing the reports of the employees attendance. Protests led by oppositions have been continuing to make the strike a success, but the ongoing situation depicts it will be tough for the opposition to make a successful strike on Monday due to various ongoing threats and fear factor working in the people's mind. Petrol prices in Agartala have been turning more volatile, as prices of crude oil have been showing a firm trend and today's petrol price in Agartala raised at Rs. 78.91.
However, amid BJP Govt's strict objection against strike-culture, Tripura Congress is determine to participate in national level agitation against the increasing fuel price under the Mod Govt followed by similar protests by NSUI, Yuva Morcha.
In the evening of Saturday Congress women activists have marched a protest rally voicing against fuel price hike.
CPI-M's youth wing DYFI activists also have come in massive protest on Saturday voicing against the increasing petrol, diesel, LPG prices across India under BJP-govt, affecting Tripura's economy each day, added by SUCI today.
On Saturday in Agartala petrol price is : 78.91 rupees, whereas diesel price is : 72.72 rupees.
