AGARTALA, Sept 19 (TIWN): NSUI on Friday gheraoed the Director of Higher Education on the issue of sudden increase of polling agents by the Student Federation of India (SFI).
Though the Director did not assure the anything, National Students Union of India (NSUI) today gheraoed the Director of Higher Education. They demanded query against the sudden increase of polling agents by SFI. Every year 18 polling agents were selected by SFI in the college election. But this year the number increased to 36. “The number was increased intentionally by SFI in order to play a lead part in . - says NSUI President Bapi Das.
“Director had paid no attention to our demands and escaped himself saying order was issued by the Principal” Bapi Das added. But the polling agent of NSUI remained same as 18 as every year. The NSUI were also led to the Principal to know the appropriate answer of sudden increase of polling agents.
It is to be mentioned here that on Tuesday SFI and NSUI got involved in clash prior to college election. The nominations for the college election already been completed. The Election is scheduled to be on 20th September.
