AGARTALA, Sep 1 (TIWN): Preparations for Janmashtami, the birthday of Lord Krishna, is on peak in Tripura.
Temples are preparing for Janmastami with full dedication. Janmastami commemorates the earthly appearance of Krishna, who is described in India’s sacred writings as God himself.
It is also one of the biggest religious festivals in the world, it is celebrated by nine hundred and thirty million people around the world.
This year Janmastami will be celebrated from Sep 2 to Sep 3.
Krishna Janmashtami, also known simply as Janmashtami or Gokulashtami, is an annual Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Krishna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu.
