AGARTALA, Aug 26 (TIWN): Congress, NSUI, Youth Congress have celebrated Rakhi Bandhan Utsav at Agartala Congress Bhawan today.

Top Congress leaders as Birjit Sinha, Gopal Roy and others remained present on that occasion. 

NSUI activists tied rakhis on citizens hands in the capital city. While addressing media, Birjit Sinha said, Rakhi Bandhan has symbolic meanings and when the country is suffering from various disturbances, Rakhi Bandhan can mitigate the problems and tie all the people with the bonding of unity. 

Raksha Bandhan, also Rakshabandhan, or simply Rakhi, is an annual rite in South Asia, or among people of South Asian origin, centred around the tying of a thread, talisman, or amulet on the wrist as a form of ritual protection.
