AGARTALA, Aug 25 (TIWN): After President of India had appointed Kaptan Singh Solanki, Governor of Haryana as the new Governor for Tripura, Tathagata Roy has left the state to join as Governor of Meghalaya on Saturday.

Kaptan Singh Solanki has been appointed as Governor of Tripura, who has arrived in state today morning.

CM Biplab Deb, Deputy CM Jishnu Debbarma and other Ministers, State Officials were present when Roy left the Raj Bhawan. 

"Just relinquished governorship of Tripura. On the way to Shillong to be sworn in as Governor of Meghalaya", Roy tweeted after departure.

The President recently has the following appointment/changes:-

 (i)          Lal Ji Tandon has been appointed as the Governor of Bihar.

(ii)         Satyadev Narayan Arya as the Governor of Haryana.

(iii)        Baby Rani Maurya as the Governor of Uttarakhand.

(iv)        Satya Pal Malik, Governor of Bihar is transferred and appointed as Governor of Jammu & Kashmir.

(v)         Ganga Prasad, Governor of Meghalaya is transferred and appointed as Governor of Sikkim.

(vi)        Tathagata Roy, Governor of Tripura is transferred and appointed as Governor of Meghalaya.

(vii)       Kaptan Singh Solanki, Governor of Haryana is transferred and appointed as Governor of Tripura.
