AGARTALA, Aug 24 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb on Friday while addressing in a govt programme conducted to felicitate students selected for outside colleges from SC and other minority sections, claimed that Tapan Dutta who was caught with heroin is not actually a BJP member, but a 'new' BJP member.

"He was earlier in CPI-M, came ahead of the election", said the Chief Minister.

The issue was raised by CM after North Tripura Police on yesterday seized Brown Sugar worths from Churaibari gate.One person has been detained named Tapan Datta, S/O-Prafulla Datta, resident of Kamala Sagar. Such raw materials were never found in Tripura earlier, said Police Head of the District, Bhanupada Chakraborty.

CM said, no BJP leader will also be spared if found in unlawful activity.      

However, CM was silent on that issue which was disclosed in a daily newspaper, how one ruling party winning candidate and dominating BJP woman leader saved one BJP member from police when they went to raid his house. It was claimed by the newspaper that police were not allowed to take those ganjas form his house.
