AGARTALA, Aug 21 (TIWN): Ramthakur College students led by ABVP has donated an amount for Kerala victims.
They had collected the fund from their friends and other college students. On Tuesday the fund was handedover to the Chief Minister in his office.
CM Biplab Deb has tweeted, "Wonderful to see the Youva Shakti of Tripua contributing for the Kerala Flood Relief activities. Here, the students from Ramthakur College, at Agartala meet me to give their contribution for assistance for relief activities for Kerala".
It can be noted here that the Finance, Coal and Railway Minister Piyush Goyal on Tuesday said the relief material coming from foreign countries for distribution in flood-ravaged Kerala have been exempted from the customs duty and the Goods and Services Tax (GST).
Following the devastating floods, over one million people are now sheltered in 3,274 relief camps in the state. The death toll during this monsoon season is estimated at around 370.
