AGARTALA, Aug 19 (TIWN): Tripura Ex-Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Sunday while addressing at IMA house in Agartala in a programme conducted to help the poor students by Umapada Barman-Anjali Barman charitable Trust asked the students never to be motivated by hatred.
“Today our country is suffering due to extreme hatred and since 2014 the country is no more is ruling under democracy. Everywhere is a tensed situation”, he said.
“Getting good marks is important for your future but at the same time it’s important to be a good person and to help others”, the Ex-CM told students.
He further wished the students for their bright future and advised them to get involve in social welfare.
Manik Sarkar is the opposition CPI-M leader who served as the Chief Minister of Tripura from March 1998 to March 2018. He is a Politburo Member of Communist Party of India.
