AGARTALA, Aug 19 (TIWN): Tripura CPI-M will start collections for Kerala flood victims from August 21st to August 31st.
The opposition party has sought common people’s help to overcome the disaster which claimed over 300 lives at there.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday announced Rs 500 crore financial assistance for flood-ravaged Kerala where hundreds of people have died, lakhs have been rendered homeless and property worth millions of rupees has been destroyed in one of the worst floods and torrential rain in recent history.
The death toll due to rains and floods in Kerala has gone up to 368, as 33 more deaths were reported on Saturday even as around 58,000 people were rescued in different parts of the state, and red alert is now there in just three districts, down from 11.
