AGARTALA, Aug 17 (TIWN): Till day, Tripura doesn't have bar ! However, with the initiative of new BJP Govt bar licenses under proceeding, which will not only increase the income of the govt, rather to create sober, safe zones for people for entertainment.

Excise Dept has already given a letter to the Home Dept for that. However, for now bar licenses have been asked for the Luxury Hotels only. 

“To overcome the financial crisis situation that the state is undergoing following a 25 years of CPI-M era, BJP Govt may issue licenses to the bars”, a source said.

It was asked many times, if other states can provide bar licenses, why not Tripura ? In Battala like places illegally and openly liquors were selling years after years in front of police. So, it’s better to give licenses to the bars.

Right now Tripura has not a single bar, as the previous govt never issued bar licenses. Many applications are waiting to get licenses.

Bars are better safe places and all advanced cities are having them.
