AGARTALA, Aug 8 ( TIWN): CPI-M to hold protest rallies across Tripura under ‘Jail Bhoro’ movement on Thursday, with 9 points of demands. Among the 9 points the farmers rights will be highlighted, alleging PM Modi and his party, govt have betrayed the farmers.
Their demands will be loan waiver for the farmers, to give ‘patta’ under the land rights, to save the democratic and fundamental rights of the people.
On the background of the movement, party leader Pabitra Kar said, “Our party offices, leaders statues are being demolished. Crime against women are on spike. Earlier Lenin, Marx’s statues were demolished along with many of Tripura’s CPI-M leaders and now they have destroyed another CPI-M leader’s statue”.
“Under the BJP Govt, Police themselves are also being attacked but still the Director General of Police is silent. Continuous attacks upon Party offices are going on but police is still biased”, he said.
