AGARTALA, Aug 7 (TIWN): Like other years, Tripura has been geared up to observe National Deworming Day this year too.
Health Minister Sudip Barman has announced the Deworming Day to be observed on August 10.
Addressing media at Secretariat, Sudip Barman said, "On August 10 it will be the 7th round of National Deworming Day. Children from 1 year to 19 years had been administered with albendazole tablets till the 5th round. From the 6th round from 19 years the albendazole tablets are being administered. The children who can not take that medicine on August 10 they will be given on August 17 and August 18".
The main programme will be conducted at Dharmanagar, North Tripura on August 9.
The Health Minister said, students future are most important to the Govt and that's why the National Deworming Day is significant.
National Deworming Day is a groundbreaking initiative focused on reducing the threat of parasitic worm infections, a widespread health issue affecting over 241 million children in India alone.
