AGARTALA, July 27 (TIWN): While agitating in Agartala against veteran Communist leader Biadyanath Majumder’s statue demolition, CPI-M leader Pabitra Kar said it is none other than BJP which has destroyed the statue.

“Earlier Lenin, Marx’s statues were demolished along with many of Tripura’s CPI-M leaders and now they have destroyed another CPI-M leader’s statue. When CPI-M is holding protest they are filing cases, using police and goons to shut the voice, but in this way they can not destroy Communism in Tripura. Indeed day by day Left parties are becoming strong across the world”, Pabitra Kar said.

A massive protest rally was conducted here in Agartala by CPI-M voicing against Ex-Deputy CM cum CPI-M’s renowned leader Late Baidyanath Majumder’s statue demolition at Kailashahar.

The statue of Tripura's iconic communist leader Baidyanath Majumder was knocked down by miscreants in northern Tripura late on Wednesday night.

Baidyanath Majumder was not only the Deputy Chief Minister but was also State CPI-M Secretary for long 10 years. He was Central CPI-M Committee member too. Indeed, he was one of the pioneer of CPI-M in Tripura on that time.
