UDAIPUR / AGARTALA, July 25 (TIWN): BJP Govt has dedicated a Haj Bhawan for Muslims on Wednesday at Melarmath in Agartala.

Chief Minister Biplab Deb, Minister Ratan Lal Nath, MLA Asish Saha, Haj Committee President Jasimudiin were present on that occasion.

The Haj Bhawan was inaugurated ahead of yearly Haj-yatra, which will be started from July 26. 

Haj is the greater Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca, which takes place in the last month of the year and which all Muslims are expected to make at least once during their lifetime if they can afford to do so. It is one of the Five Pillars of Islam.

Haj Bhawan was planned and construction taken up during CPI-M era.
