AGARTALA, July 19 (TIWN) Kadamtala Battalion of Assam Rifles as part of Headquarters 22 Sector Assam Rifles under Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) based on information from Assam Rifles Field Intelligence Unit (ARFIU) and Manipur Police apprehended three cadres of Zelianrong United Front (Kamson) in a drive took place since Wednesday to Thursday from village Ramgaijang Part 1 under PS Jirighat bordering Jiribam District of Manipur.

The cadres were apprehended from a house where they had forced their way demanding food and shelter.

The cadres whose movement and activities were being tracked by police and security forces for some time have been identified as:-

(a) Agaung Jeme, Age - 26 years, resident of Jalukie Village, District Peren, Nagaland

(b) Azeu Pame, Age - 33 yrs, resident of New Beisunpui Village, District Peren, Nagaland

(c) Haisuive Pame, Age - 26yrs, resident of  Mahur Village, District Dima Hasao, Assam

One Heckler Koch rifle of German design with two magazines and one pistol with one magazine along with ammunition and other items were recovered from the cadres.

The apprehended cadres were known to be involved in cases of kidnapping and extortion and other undesirable activities along Jiribam-Tupul-Imphal railway line.

With the cadres handed over to Police Station Jirighat for further investigation, people of Jiribam can expect a peaceful life.
