AGARTALA, July 18 (TIWN): Revenue Generation and standard city’s lives major role could be played with regular TRTC bus service, but under the previous Govt even though many TRTC buses were launched and the service went well for decades but in last 5 years the TRTC service was totally stopped. Even in 2012-2013 TRTC bus service was under function in long distances but in last 5 years either town or long-distance the service has been totally stopped under the previous CPI-M Minister Manik Dey. The present Transport Minister Pranjait Sinha Roy today has visited TRTC office and checked the situations. The Minister has expressed surprises what the employees here are doing when no service is existing in reality. Buses which were introduced in a large number have maximum gone to the private hands and others left damaged.
Minister has sought all the buses report within 4 days.
Minister said, “People are waiting for the town bus service since many days. They are constantly requesting us for town bus service. But it’s quite surprising when people are waiting for the service the dept has no concern”.
The Minister also confirmed before media that he held various meetings with the Transport Dept in last four months expressing surprise why no development has come even after vaious meetings.
Within four days all reports have been ordered to be placed to the Minister and after getting the report Transport Dept will start action to repair buses and re-launch the service. Minister also said, TRTC buses are govt property and they can not stay in private hands.
TRTC can play a major role for increasing Govt’s income.
