AGARTALA / SABROOM, July 17 (TIWN): TCS Officers have donated Rs. 20,000 to lynching victim Sukanta Chakraborty’s family, who was killed on June 28 in mob violence at Sabroom subdivision’s Kalachara when he was engaged in awareness campaigning against rumours on behalf of state govt.
On behalf of Sukanta Chakraborty, Deputy CM Jishnu Debbarma has handedover the cheque to the deceased wife Tanushree Chakraborty.
On July 10, MLA Shankar Roy, SDM Biplab Kr Das on behalf of state govt has handed over another cheque of Rs. 5 lakh for Sukanta Chakraborty’s family members.
There will be also a monument to be dedicated for Sukanta Chakraborty at Kalachara of Sabroom.
Three persons died in mob-lyinching in Tripura. However, whether all the families will get the compensation of not, it has not been announced. Rallies, protests are going on against mob-lynching.
