AGARTALA, July 9 (TIWN): Lately, but local BJP MLA Shankar Roy on behalf of state govt has announced Rs. 5 lakh for victim Sukanta Chakraborty’s family members.
TIWN had published a news on July 7 condemning Govt’s silence on Sukanta Chakraborty’s murder and no compensation. However, on July 8, the local MLA has assured through press conference that within few days the check will be handed over to Sukanta Chakraborty’s family.
There will be also a monument to be dedicated for Sukanta Chakraborty at Kalachara of Sabroom.
Three persons died in mob-lyinching in Tripura. However, whether all the families will get the compensation of not, it has not been announced.
Criticism has also raised for CM, Minister and ICAT Dept’s silence over mob-lynching and so far only 9 people have been arrested.
Rallies, protests are going on against mob-lynching.
Sukanta Chakraborty's family has demanded a govt job for their survival.
