Kailashahar, September 11 (TIWN): Thousands of subscribers of BSNL internet and related services are fed up with the poor services provided by the telecommunication department under Unakoti and North Tripura district. Frequent call drops, call breaks, network congestion and Internet interruptions, have irked the subscribers and to get away from this prolonged harassment, most of the subscribers have subscribed more than one Net work.
Not only that interrupted Internet services which is sometimes having a slow speed have become a cause of headache for the officials of the institution which totally depends on Internet connectivity. “Due to interrupted broadband services, the institution fails to provide healthy services to the consumers and most of the day customers leave the institution out of frustration”- one bank officials said. Further he alleged that the authorities lodged many complaints at Telecom office but the broadband services are deteriorating day by day and badly affecting the day-to- day services. But on the other parts, though the alarming situation demands an early restoration of poor services, the concerned authorities of Kailashahar and Dharmanagar telephone exchange instead of improving the services appears to have turned Nelson’s eye towards the deteriorating services. Rather than taking initiative on restoring normalcy when asked to concerned authorities, they simply perform their duties by saying that it is a technical snag in the main server in Agartala as well as local telephone tower and work is on to restore normalcy. Subscribers of the Unokoti district complained that mobile services under this exchange is not at all satisfactory and most of the time the favorite words of telecom department such as “Not reachable’, “network busy ‘greet the subscribers.“As we pay our bills regularly, it is our right to get a healthy services free from call drops , call breaks and net congestion”- subscribers of Kailashahar argued. “We face difficulty in making and receiving calls due to poor cellular signal as most of the times, network signals suddenly disappear and if the device catches the signal also the voice at the other ends breaks frequently. ”-Subscribers under Dharmanagr telephone exchange said.“Though the BSNL authorities are totally failed to provide a healthy mobile and internet services, but the authorities never compromise with the bills and take no time in disconnecting the services if any subscriber fails to pay the bill”- one subscriber said.
