AGARTALA, September 11 (TIWN):As per report of election official, approximate 38,000 voters are going to cast their votes in the 39-Manu (ST) assembly by-poll in Tripura on 13th September.
Forty six polling stations in 38 locations would be set up and 230 polling personnel, 38 micro-observers were appointed to hold the by-poll Jindal told TIWN.
The by-poll is being conducted due to resignation of Minister Jitendra Chaudhary, who had won the assembly seat five times, who was elected to the Lok Sabha from the Tripura East Parliamentary constituency. It is a prestige seat for the ruling Left Front Party to win the seat with a huge margin in Modi- era.
Though there are six candidates in the fray, the main fight would be between the ruling CPI-M candidate Pravat Chowdhury and Congress candidate Mailafru Mog. Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, leader of opposition INC party Sudip Roy Barman and BJP's state president Sudhindra Dasgupta campaigned for their respective party candidates.
