AGARTALA, June 26 (TIWN): Tripura CPI-M State Secretary Bijan Dhar has rubbished the zero-deficit budget claim of the BJP Govt saying, even strong economic countries do not go for such a budget.
“You have to take loan for a better budget and development. There is nothing called zero-deficit”, Dhar told media.
“Still, if the Govt didn’t impose any tax on people, then it was okay but with heavy taxes on fuel and gas how can they call it an ideal budget ?”, Bijan Dhar added.
“In various schemes they have downed the budget. For poor, in CPI-M’s time it was 90 crores, which has been downed at 50 crores this year. Still a zero-deficit budget is ideal ?”, Dhar further said.
However, the claim of the opposition got a space after Chief Minister Biplab Deb today said, “Vision Document will be fulfilled not from my pocket but from the taxes which will be collected from public”.
