Sabroom, Sept 9 (TIWN): Altogether 41 employees cast their postal ballot in Manu today for the September 13 assembly by-poll.
All EVMs were commissioned at the office of Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Saboom) Rajib Dutta. The EVMs are currently kept in the strong room guarded by central para-military guards. Training for 38 micro observers will also take place today. All 46 polling stations spread across 38 locations in the constituency are currently undergoing vulnerability assessment. Six companies of central armed police forces will be deployed in Manu for the by-poll.
The by-election wouldn’t have any separate Police observer owing to which the general observer would be handling law and order issues relating to the election. Expenditure Observer Gopesh Chandra Das is already camping in the constituency since the last few weeks. The international border with Bangladesh will get sealed 48 hours ahead of the date of poll. Counting of votes would be conducted from 8 am onwards on September 16 next.
