AGARTALA, June 20 (TIWN): Aligned party with BJP, separatist IPFT has declared to observe their proposed Tipraland’s statehood day on August 23 across all subdivisions in Tripura.
In a press conference IPFT leader Ananta Debbarma has announced about that.
Addressing media, the IPFT leader further said that IPFT strictly oppose the Citizenship (Amendment) bill, asking the central govt to cancel the proposal.
Also IPFT has set all necessary papers to constitute a high-powered committee which will discuss in future about socio-economic-cultural development of the tribal people in Tripura.
Earlier, in 2016 on Statehood Day (on August 23) IPFT and Agartala locals came in massive clash and after that the then CPI-M Govt didn’t give permission to IPFT to hold further rallies in Agartala.
However, this year in all subdivisions IPFT will staged demonstration demanding a separate Tipraland for tribals.
