AGARTALA, June 18 (TIWN): 30 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 21 Sector Assam Rifles continues to spearheaded flood relief operations in the inundated areas at Gobindpur, Bartola, Fatikroy, Kumarghat & Kailashahar.

Large number of families have already been evacuated from inundated areas to nearest relief camps. Medical camp has been organised at Chiriakoti relief camp in which medical checkup & treatment of more than 500 locals affected by floods has been carried out.

River embankment near Gobindpur Market got breached yesterday morning. A column of Assam Rifles moved to the spot & helped in the repair works along with PWD. The genuine efforts of Assam Rifles to extend help during disastrous situation was appreciated by all.
