SONAMURA / AGARTALA, June 17 (TIWN): Delay in Indo-Bangla border fencing are increasing threats for both Bangladeshi and Indian citizens in Tripura.
Two girl children have been recovered today at Sonamura with the joint initiative of locals and Melagharh and Sonamura police.
Police have arrested two persons related with girl trafficking crime 1) Usman Mia and 2) Billal Mia in this connection.
Two girls were recovered from Billal Mia’s home. One girl is only 2 years old named Thanatul Sulta and another girl is 7 years old Osi Aktar.
They are daughters of Bangladeshi resident Asim Mia. Their home is located at Sujoynagar of Comilla, said local police.
But when the 2 years old girl was crying at night, the local suspected the matter. They informed the police and thus both the girls were recovered from Usman Mia's home at Melagharh.
Both of the culprits have been arrested and a case had been lodged against Billal Mia and Usman Moa in Sonamura and Melaghar Police station.
On Sunday talking to TIWN SP Sepahijala Kulwant Singh has expressed concerns about the 9 km long unfenced border at that District yet.
However, in which way the girls were trafficked it is yet to be known, but the 7 years girl Osi Aktar said they were snatched from her mother by miscreants and have been brought here.
Police is investigating the case.
